Please register all guests in YPTC Guest Register in Clubhouse. All garbage should be removed–leave no trace.
Orientation
All members must be familiar with YPTC’s facilities. If you are uncertain or have a question please contact Peter Lewis on his cell: (603) 560-3776.
Court Lights (and night play)
When entering parking lot at night, a motion detector will activate parking lot flood light. The light is on a timer and will automatically shut off after 12 minutes. Separate circuits are identified in the panel box for court lights, heaters, floodlight and electric outlet. The court lights circuit and heater circuit must be turned off after use. The floodlight circuit must be left in the on position at all times. If you access the panel box please make certain that the door is securely closed.
Snow Procedures
The Club has contracted to have snow removed from the parking lot. It is the responsibility of members to clear the court and deck.
Shovels and broom are located in shed adjacent to clubhouse. Please raise all of the skirt boards gently and then push the snow through the opening created. Do not push the snow into lowered skirt boards. Do not throw snow through the screen. When court has been cleared, please gently lower the skirt boards. A favored technique is to place your feet over the edge of the opening and allow the skirt board to “bump” into your shoe. Avoid allowing the skirt boards to slam down into position.
Court Heaters
There are two cylindrical heaters, each with a separate thermostat under the court. The heaters are activated at the panel box. The door accessing space where heaters are located should be closed when the heaters are running. They should only be used to melt ice or snow remaining after court has been cleared. They are not to be used in lieu of shoveling the court or for warmth on a cold night. Please do not use salt or sand on the court.
Court Access
The court is accessed by two doors located on each side of the court. Please make sure that both doors are secured when exiting the court.
Warming Hut
YPTC’s brand new clubhouse is accessed by a combination lock. Please contact Peter Lewis (603) 560-3776 if you have forgotten the number. The heating source is a gas fireplace with thermostat set to 45 degrees. To heat the hut, follow directions which are posted on Bulletin Board. Heat must be in the “On” position at all times. Reduce the thermostat to 45 degrees when you leave.
What to Wear
Paddle is a sport that allows you to quickly warm up. Many people find that a turtleneck is adequate even during the colder temperatures. A fleece top and/or vest lets you “peel off” your layers as you need to. Some people prefer jeans while others prefer warm-ups. TENNIS SNEAKERS must be worn AT ALL TIMES on the court. PLEASE NO OTHER FOOTWEAR.
